This Watch

We have here a classic, ladies-sized, Cartier Ronde with an original, plain, black dial for an extra elegant look. The dial is simply signed, 'must de Cartier' at 12 o'clock and 'Swiss Made' with the famous Cartier logo at 6. All the hallmark Cartier features are present including sword-shaped hands and cabochon setting crown. We particularly love the articulated, Vendôme lugs which add an extra touch of elegance and sophistication.

The vermeil case, also known as silver gilt, or gold-plated sterling silver, measures 24mm and is a very comfortable wear on the wrist. This smaller size makes it the perfect watch for ladies. Inside the case is the Swiss quartz caliber 81, fully serviced by us and running strongly. We've paired this watch on a black leather strap with its original Cartier buckle to keep it dressy, but it looks great on anything.

Extra Points

The 'Must De' Cartier concept was first introduced around 1973 when the Cartier lighter became the must-have accessory. Cartier branched out from jewellery to pens, leather goods, fragrances and more affordable watches. One of the main ways they transformed their designs way by making them out of vermeil, or silver gilt, which is gold-plated sterling silver. This made the watches more affordable whilst still having the prestige of being made from a precious metal. Various sizes, dial colours and finishes were then produced for both men and women. The Must de Cartier line was faded out at the beginning of the 21st century.
